A place to share examples of the Mandela Effect.
There's this YouTube channel called Daz Games. He plays, well, games, and he also reacts to videos. He reacted to the videos Don't Hug Me I'm Scared and Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 2 a while back, but I swore I saw him react to Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 3. But, whenever I look for his video, I can't find it. What's even more unusual, him reacting to Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 3 was how I was introduced to the DHMIS series! Our memories are weird.
This is a Calbel.com Mandela effect. So, there was a user named ACalbelForYourThough who changed his name to SirMemesALot and then MacintoshPlus. The thing is, I always thought his original name was 'ACalbelForYourThoughts' instead of 'ACalbelForYourThough'. I don't know how, but I always "thought" of it that way.
So I was watching a try not to laugh, and then a popular one came on.
I remember it as a little child drawing on a canvas, and then a mother saying "don't draw on that!" In a weird accent (I think it's a Texans accent). Turns out she said "don't write on that!"
In bittersweet symphony by the verve, I always heard the lyrics as "that's life, and those were ALWAYS the lyrics. But it turns out it goes "this life" and I was like WTF no, it's "that's life" and it's always been "that's life. Am I the only person who has noticed this?
Idk if this counts as a Mandela Effect, it's more of a personal memory.
(Also, spoilers for Undertale ahead.)
But in the neutral/pacifist route, the monsters tell the story of King Asgore's child and the first human child and all that stuff. And as far as I remember, they don't reveal that part yet. But then I watched Jacksepticeye's gameplay of Undertale and turns out that they actually mention Asriel by name.
This is weird because I specifically remember thinking how Asriel was obviously a combination of the names Asgore and Toriel but also not knowing that Toriel was the queen later in the game when Asgore mentions her. Though it might be that they just mentioned Asriel's name and I instantly forgot about it.
One day, I will make a story or something called "Mandella Effect" with two l's so people will make a Mandela Effect about the name Mandela and how they thought it only had one l, and I will be watching them and laughing.
This Mandela Effects isn't popular, but it is one that I know. I always thought that Shane Dawson's YouTube channel was called "Shane" with a capital S. It turns out it is "shane" all lowercase. Did anyone else notice this?
