Very good reality TV show, I loved the idea of finding restaurants run by insane people and fixing them. Its the good kind of drama I want and Gordon Ramsey is still himself (Sorta)
Robot Wars (2016 revival)
Now, a little known fact about me: I F*CKING loved the original Robot Wars. It had everything I always wanted in a robotic combat show. Imposing arenas, a catchy soundtrack, wacky and creative robots and of course, crazy and chaotically unbalanced combat with robot guts flying from all corners.
Come the 2016 reboot and the experience just feels severely neutered.
The pumped up and chaotic tone set by the original series? GONE. The absolute banger of an intro theme is thrown out the window, instead replaced with the most generic electronic war music imaginable. Craig Charles' memorably eccentric attitide as the original show's host, now replaced by Dara O'Brien who not only makes NO attempt to hype up the show, but also sounds as if he's just here for the paycheck. And the intimidating and imposing arena of the original, now stripped down of all its personality leaving it little more than a white and grey box with the occasional tacky stage hazard. Oh, and the music that plays during battles? Yeah, those have been completely thrown out the window too. Riveting.
Battles remain nearly the same as before, with the classic fight-to-the-death format and occasionally we get well needed moments of utter chaos and destruction, but most fights simply either boil down to either a judge's decision or a malfunction, with very little consequence or action in-between.
So, whilst the revival still maintains several moments of enjoyable combat and unpredictable antics from the original show, the several ways in which the show was stripped down compared to the original series makes it feel like a bag of greasy potato chips in comparison to the original's gourmet buffet.
13 Reasons Why- 3/10
I don't have a 100% Logical™ reasoning for this rating. It's solely based on my experience and interaction with those who watched the show.
Like okay, sure, this show is allowed to portray mental illness, but when everyone suddenly thinks that they have the qualifications to diagnose everyone around them and suddenly start looking for "signs" when there are none, it gets annoying. I was honestly annoyed with the show in general. The characters were stupid and unreasonable. They went back on their actions, then complained about the outcome. Not to sound insensitive, but that's how life works. The characters were flat. I understand that they're supposed to be average high school, but it really makes me question if the director has ever been to a public high school.
Totally overrated show.
puppy dog pals = 10000/10
its a very good show on disney jr and it is not annoying. the dogs look beautiful and i bought every merch related to the show. they travel around the world and its fun, their voices aren't annoying. watch it NOW!
Okay, let's start off with positives. Though the character designs look... ew, the backgrounds are very nice. They are really creative with a sky town, the home where the breadwinners live, and the towns with lilypads over water. They are really nice to look at and can tell creativity was put in it. I especially like the idea of a bread mine. A nice detail is how the soundtrack would match the action perfectly. But that is where the positives end for me.
The jokes 99% of the time were terrible, they were just "LOL! BUTTS!!!" or stale jokes. They should've known that a butt doesn't automatically make a joke funny. The writing is bad, either that their plots are bad (like for example, there's an episode where one of the main characters forces another duck to love them... yeah that isn't creepy, right?) or done better in other shows. The characters we are stuck with have nothing to them, they are just the dumb best friends like in other shows. Their designs are bad, instead of looking like actual ducks they look like frogs. They should of had their beaks grown more than just a small beak mouth. The fact they use stock images for times is lazy. A good show would use stock images from time to time for jokes, but here... the background ducks are Google images, the bread is a stock image. Honestly, this show is bad. However, with the right hands it could've actually been a good show!
Even though I'm a big fan of this show, it has its duds. Of course, the seasonal rot was BAD to most people. Let me give it 4 ratings in one.
10/10 (Seasons 1-3)
6/10 (Seasons 4-5)
5/10 (Seasons 6-8)
6.5/10 (Seasons 9-10)
1-3 was amazing. 4-5 was good, but there were some stinkers. 6-8 was meh, but it was definitely my least favorite point in the series. Seasons 9 and 10 are getting better, Season 10 is okay, but Season 9B was great. Overall, this show is a 7/10. With 18 years of nautical nonsense and many more years to come, I hope this show becomes even more good!
Rick And Morty.
Imagine Futurama and Invader Zim having a drunken one-night stand behind the bar one night, then having David Lynch and Neitzsche adopt the bastard child left behind in the dumpster.
In all seriousness, this show has to be one of the most creative adult cartoon shows I've ever watched. It's very imaginative with its imagery, storylines and themes and can often delve into some pretty disturbing concepts that would otherwise go under the rug for most people (see the King Jellybean scenes from "Meeseeks And Destroy" for a frame of reference).
In addition, one of the biggest reasons Rick And Morty has such a broad fanbase is because it's always dropping insanely creative jokes and observations about philosophy, society and the real world and yet it's no stranger to partaking in some good ol' fashioned gross-out/toilet humour.
If you're after a pure, unrestrained adult comedy cartoon series to make you question your place in this universe, look no further. Plus, with the rest of Season 3 starting on the 30th of July, there's all the more reason to get hyped like no tomorrow. Just be prepared for a few mindf**ks along the way. :p
doctor who: 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000/10
AMAZING! The best time travel tv show! The story starts with an alien, the Doctor. He is very mysterious. We know nothing about him, not even his name (which is why we call him "the Doctor"). He has immense knowledge of time and space and is able to travel through time with his TARDIS, Time And Relative Dimensions In Space, which is as mysterious as the Doctor himself. Outside, it looks like a 1963 londonian phone box (the show started in 1963; it's the longest still-running science-fiction tv show in the world). Inside, it's infinite. It is powered by a black hole, the Eye of Harmony. And it is ALIVE. Another thing about the series is that they often bring historical characters (Charles Dikkens, Vincent Van Gogh or Adolf Hitler) and use them in the story. Even if the scienc of the show is hypothetical (it's a supposition, since it's more advanced than ours), we can still understand the Doctor's explanation of the crazy events that happen on screen. I could keep talking like that, but I have to watch modern (the reboot, started in 2005, is a sequel to the "classic" doctor who, started in 1963 and ended in 1995) season 10's finale.
