The Wow! Signal
A 72-second signal that was recorded in Ohio State University's Big Ear radio for the SETI (search for extraterrestrial intelligence) project. The signal came from the Sagittarius constellation but other than that, no one knows the exact source of it. It is called the Wow! signal because Jerry R. Ehman, the man who caught the signal, wrote "Wow!" at the margin of the printed recording.
